Following the phenomenal success of those omnipresent property programmes where people do up everything from an olde sweety shoppe to a turreted chateau and everything in between, there’s been a mad social media outburst of folk sharing their similar house transitions from ugly to House Beautiful shareworthy in multiple social media episodes.
So much charm and mystery around old houses. Our old farm house has similar quirks - although I would one day love to get the 70’s wall paper replaced. A girl can dream!
Capacious scullery! Scullery always conjures the room of that name in my grandparents’ houses, both had barely enough room for a sink and the zinc washtub. It’s an interesting word that seems to be interpreted variously, maybe regionally, I don’t know, but I remember a heated debate once about what constitutes a scullery, a pantry and a larder.

We too have legions of woodlice & battalions of spiders sharing our abode - I’m envious of the cobbles 🙂

Love the apple store door!
I never knew those little doors are bible cupboards! Fascinating house, Debbie.
They were valuable and important, and next to the fireplace/range they were kept dry in what were/are, shall we say, “breathable” houses.
